Last wilderness of Yala (Ruhunu) National Park

WELL…i just read about the Sri Lankan government deciding to open up all blocks of Yala, which i think certainly is NOT a good idea.

There are several issues, not to mention consequences that will follow..

The animals in Yala are already “tame”, that is why Yala is special to many. But I doubt it´s a good idea placing vehicles in the wild parts, these animals are not used by it and besides, neither the driver or guide are allowed to wear any weapons. What will happen to sri lankan reputation if tourists get injured by, let´s say an aggressive elephant who wants to be left alone?

And what about preserving the Sri Lankan natural Herritage?

Let´s give Wilpattu National Park a facelift and let the tourists explore all the other national parks around Sri Lanka. Because there are plenty of them and they are all open.

Let the rest blocks of Yala remain wild and keep going with the Safaris in what´s already opened.

Well done, government! Another brainless idea to rule the cash.
