Doglovers of Sri Lanka (and worldwide)!
If you ever think about getting a dog or cat, please consider to adopt a homeless one first. You could be given the loyalty and friendship for life.
Sri Lanka is overpopulated by stray dogs. To end this overpopulation, we can help by making several things. We can get them sterialized and we can give them new homes.
I know that many people don´t wanna welcome a new pet into the family unless it´s a baby but please, the grownup dogs have also been babies once, the only difference is that we have taken their freedom away by acting domestic towards them. No animal should be living the life of a stray dog or cat.
And as for the cats…You can find a good friend in a cat as well… These little fellas can be quite a good company if you will give them the time and love they need.
So just…please…consider to adopt one that is already in a need of a home. There a plenty of organizations and shelters that will sterialize and vaccinate them for free so you don´t have to worry a thing about getting a sick dog or a cat (unless you don´t have a passion in helping the sick ones to become healthy)..
